West Sands Beach

One of two award-winning beaches in St Andrews, West Sands holds a coveted Blue Flag.
Only a five-minute walk from the hotel, the beach is a vast expanse of clean sand, perfect for beautiful walks. West Sands is host to children’s sand-castle building competitions during the summer months and is used year round for sports such as kiting, parakarting and mountain boarding.

St Andrews Botanic Gardens

Described as a 'hidden gem' of Scotland, these gardens contain about 8,000 species of ferns, herbaceous plants, shrubs and trees. Some are native to Scotland but most grow wild in other regions of the world. Experience variety as you explore a water garden, heath garden, peat garden, rock garden and glasshouses.

For more information please visit the St Andrews Botanic Gardens website.

Fife Coastal Path

Running approximately 135km/81 miles of Fife’s coastline, the Coastal Path spans from the unique and imposing Forth Bridge, all the way north to the Tay Bridge at the gateway to Dundee. Passing through historical and natural landscapes along the way, the Coastal Path caters to a range of walking abilities.

Visit the Fife Coastal Path website for more information.

Himalayas

As the name suggests this 18-hole putting green is not made up of flat terrain! Great fun for adults and children alike, the Himalayas is only a short walk from the hotel.

Walking Tours of St Andrews

Take in the historic aspects of the town as by touring the University, the Castle and the Cathedral ruins. Audio-guided historical tours are also available to hire from the Tourist Information Centre on Market Street.

With its restaurants, bars, street cafes, antique shops, galleries and ice cream parlours, St Andrews is also ideal for wandering around at your leisure.

Kite Flying

The award-winning Blue Flag West Sands beach is now a popular haunt both with kiting enthusiasts and those just beginning. The beach is only a five-minute walk from the hotel and children’s kites can be purchased locally.
