A CLEAR VISION OF CULINARY SUCCESS AT THE OLD COURSE HOTEL Scotland’s luxury resort – The Old Course Hotel, Golf Resort & Spa – is delighted to announce the re-launch of its highly-acclaimed restaurant, The Road Hole Grill, which is located on the fourth floor of the iconic hotel. With a host of features which showcase Scotland at its finest, including picture-postcard views and the highest-quality locally-sourced seasonal produce, the Road Hole Grill is set to become a must-visit gourmet destination for all food lovers. In keeping with the Grill’s three AA rosettes, award-winning Head Chef, Paul Hart, has created a new à la carte menu, which boasts a diverse selection of spectacular dishes using Scottish and, where possible, organic ingredients including Poached East Neuk Lobster, Suckling Pig from the Ross-shire region of Scotland and fillet of Shetland Organic Salmon. Paul also introduces a brand new eight-course tasting menu as well as an accompanying vegetarian menu which are paired with an exquisite selection of champagne and wines, hand-picked by the Maître d’Hotel, Judith Scott. Notable dining features of the re-launched Grill include dramatic new floor-to-ceiling windows which offer some of the best views in Scotland across the Old Course, the “auld grey toon” of St Andrews and the sweeping coastal vista. The windows were inspired by Herbert V. Kohler Jr, the entrepreneurial owner of the Old Course Hotel, whose love and passion for Scotland and its natural larder are encapsulated within the restaurant itself. The Road Hole Grill has been expanded to increase its capacity to 90 covers, allowing the addition of a new “Road Hole Table” which enjoys a prominent corner position directly above the 17th “Road Hole” of the world’s most famous golf course. The original open kitchen will remain one of the key features of the restaurant, adding a sense of theatre and drama to an outstanding dining experience. The neighbouring Road Hole Bar, which is famous for its unique selection of 200 whiskies, provides a fabulous pre and post dinner venue with the panoramic windows which span the entire length of the fourth floor of the hotel, taking in the boardroom and private “lovers’ gallery” which is set to become Scotland’s most romantic spot and a favourite for engagements and special occasions. The re-launch of the fourth floor of the Old Course Hotel is the final part of a comprehensive multi-million pound investment programme which has spanned almost three years and has taken in the interior aspects of the hotel including all bedrooms, suites re-designed by star designer Jacques Garcia, the world-class Kohler Waters Spa and a brand new conference design. Renowned hotelier and Chairman of the British Hospitality Association Scotland Committee, Debbie Taylor, was brought in as Managing Director of Old Course Ltd. last September to oversee the re-positioning of the resort. Debbie has an exemplary track-record in hospitality management, with a particular emphasis on developing her team to ensure the highest levels of customer care. Debbie’s vision is to spearhead the future expansion and development of the Old Course Hotel as one of the world’s leading golf and spa resorts, including the addition of the Duke’s Residence development, a project which will transform a Victorian mansion house on the resort’s own championship golf course, The Duke’s, into an ultra-exclusive private membership club. Debbie Taylor commented: “I am delighted to be at the helm of such a dynamic and exciting tourism business. We have created a beautiful, highly-luxurious setting, which is enhanced by the highest levels of Scottish hospitality. I am particularly proud of the Road Hole Grill and the team is working very hard to deliver a world-class dining experience. I am also very excited about the future expansion of the resort, which will guarantee our place as a world-leader in the global hospitality industry.” The Road Hole Grill is open daily from 7pm to 10pm. Sunday lunch is served from 12 noon to 2.30pm. Road Hole Grill Tasting Menu by Head Chef Paul Hart Canapés (changes on a daily basis) £65.00 per person (£95.00 per person including wines)
